The Endless Summer
Framed Dimensions: 30" x 48"
Wyland’s artistic mastery is in full effect in “The Endless Summer,” his brilliant abstract expressionist interpretation of the quintessential Hawaiian sunset. In the foreground, two humpback whales prepare to make a final descent for the day into the warm waters of their undersea home, as the sun descends on the horizon. “This painting captures the evening sky in Hawaii unlike almost any other work,” Wyland says. “It’s from the same group of canvases I painted in Hawaii when I did one of my most iconic pieces, The Last Whale. Life is very short, and for me this painting is a reminder to savor those special moments that the world presents to us.”
