Ernest Hemingway was one of my favorite writers when I was growing up. The story of the Old Man and the Sea inspired me to visit Cuba and paint my 103rd ocean mural of his story in Havana. The painting depicts the old man as he sees the big fish, a massive blue marlin for the first time, art imitating life.
When I returned back to my studio from Cuba I completed the original oil painting “The Old Man and the Sea” on canvas. The two worlds view also features the amazing coral reef and fish life of Cuba which I have dived many times over the years. I am proud to announce the new release of “The Old Man and the Sea” available for the first time to my collectors, hand signed and numbered limited edition giclee on canvas.
